Truly a battle befitting Champions. A great strategem combining Light Screen+Reflector, Halloween which made her attack super effective as displayed by Carne. A strong assault to break the defence as shown by Wataru, now this is called the Pokemon battle, a much better battle than certain someone who just one shotting other people ace.

Next episode, judging from the preview I can already know is a good one. My favourite champion Shirona on the move. Hope that semi final will be 6V6 as 3V3 is not enough for me

I would say Amaruruga the MVP, wears out Wataru ace Dragonite a lot, provide great support for next match with the 2 moves

Also Gourgeist using Trick-O-Treat to make Gyrados part Ghost type to land supereffective ghost hits.

There were already two Mega Gyrados introduced with Lysandre and Misty. And if that happened he wouldn't be able to showcase his true Ace Dragonite.

This was a better battle than the last episode. Already heard Lance/Wataru was gonna get nerfed and lose but at least he put up a good fight.

At least we got to see Lance using his ace and not getting one-shot like previous match.

Champion vs champion should be 6v6! Where talking about Champions here not some fodder vs fodder!

Also, find someone who looks at you like Jesse looks at a Gourgeist

That was a great battle of champions!!! And I got to say that Dynamax Dragonite reminded me of the lighthouse episode of season 1 that brings back memories.

Really good episode. I really like it when a battle anime actually has battles where you can't obviously predict who is gonna win. It's a really rare occurrence.

Because it is lmao, we already know the anime doesn't follow a speck of logic only when it's convenient, but Diantha's team sweeps Lance' 10 out of 10 times with merely 2 pokemon if she wanted to if it did apply proper logic to the battles.

They have definitely done our boy Wataru/Lance and his Red Gyarados dirty .... That Gyarados has won almost no major battles

worst part is that it had a better chance of winning against mega gardevoir than lance's dragonite.
lance should have swapped over to hydreigon the moment gourgeist was sent out rather than gyarados as hydreigon was never going to win against a mega gardevoir anyway. if he had done that, hydreigon would have been able to win or severely weaken gourgeist without him losing the only pokemon he had that wasn't weak to fairy type moves. gyarados would have also been better at executing his plan than dragonite

not to forget that max normal lowers speed, so gardevoir should have not been able to dodge the last attack... but apparently they conviniently forgot about side effects from max moves... oh wait no they didnt they had max ice bring hail :/

The mega gyarados wouldn't have more of a chance than dragonite did other than it having crunch maybe, considering dragonite is faster than gyarados, but a mega Gardevoir outspeeds both and moonblast usually one/two taps them.

I wish they gave Lance a Mega stone I wanna see a Mega Red Gyarados. And He turn into a Dark type would be super effective agaisnt Psychic.

Tbf, Mega Gardevoir could essentially sweep his entire team after some setup.

Also, yea, Japan really having a tough week :(

They called Lance the NEW champion of Johto and Kanto, also Ash is from Kanto so they wrote off the repeat region challengers in the first 2 battles. Makes me wonder if something crazy is gonna happen after the tourney is over.

Battle was pretty predictive but I really respect Dragonite for holding ground till end

i mean Lance kinda deserved to lose there, he let his ace tank all those freeshots and then tried to hit mega gardevoir with a hyper beam. all brawns no actual tactics. unlike his opponent which utilized lightscreen and reflector and halloween.

on another note, i hope cynthia wins, regardless the battle looks like itll have a much higher portion of the budget over the last 2
